On January 11, on the Microsoft Teams platform, the presentation event of the Horizon 2020 LeTSGEPs project “Leading Towards Sustainable Gender Equality Plans in research performing organizations”, funded by the European Union and related to the dissemination of gender equality plans in international universities and research centers, took place. The event was addressed to all the stakeholders of the Messina University, from teachers, administrative staff to students.

After the institutional greetings, by the Deputy Rector Prof. Giovanni Moschella, by the General Director Francesco Bonanno, by the Director of the Department of Economics Prof. Michele Limosani and by Dr. Mariella Crisafulli, Provincial Councilor for Equality, Prof. Luisa Pulejo, coordinator of the UNIME LeTSGEPs team, introduced the working day. Prof. Tindara Addabbo, of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Scientific Coordinator of the LeTSGEPs project, and Prof. Carlo Vermiglio explained the objectives of the project to the numerous attendees. Then, Prof. Guido Noto and Dr. Valeria Naciti presented the results achieved in the first year of the research activity.

Two other speeches on the topic were delivered by Prof. Concetta Parrinello, President of the Single Guarantee Committee of UNIME, and by Dr. Salvatore Sidoti, Head of the Strategic Planning, Management Control and Reporting Technical Coordination Unit of the University of Messina.

At the end of the morning, Prof. Giovanna Spatari, Pro-Rector for Welfare and Gender Policies of the University, virtually delivered the certificates of participation to LeTSGEPs training activity, delivered in the months of October and November 2020.

The event was a great success with more than 350 participants including students, administrative staff and academic staff.
